Lettuce Talk Romaine

I’m only going to talk about Romaine once. I don’t believe Romaine is a vegetable. It’s a staple in my life. I eat it for lunch and dinner. I put everything on it. Bananas, nuts, green beans. I’ve even been known to cut up pizza and throw it on there. I haven’t tried chocolate cake and Romaine yet, but I’m sure I will. For me there’s something magical about Romaine. My skin looks better. I look less puffy when I devour Romaine twice a day. And for us who have a low thyroid problem, it’s always nice to feel a bit thinner even though it may not be the case.

So today my friends and fellow writers, lettuce have a Chef Salad for dinner. Throw on a little rotisserie chicken from Sam’s and give a big salute to our Vegetable of the Day…Romaine.

Food for Writers—Literally

Writers cannot live on chocolate alone. Believe me, I’ve tried. More often than not, I’ll look up and have Five O’clock Panic—WHAT’S FOR DINNER? The people in my house expect food. Real food. My teenage son is a cross country runner and health enthusiast. For some weird reason he won’t accept Pizza Rolls for dinner every night. That doesn’t mean they’re not in the freezer for emergencies.

To cut down on the pressure, I try to have a menu set up for the week and those items in my house. My busy friends are always asking me what I’m making for that night. When I come across a good Crockpot recipe, invariably, I’m emailing it to a large group of women because they are in the same dilemma as I am. Our families want to eat.

So this is what I’ve decided to do to give back to my writer friends—Dinner. I thought I could tweet what is planned for our evening meal and maybe get others to think about dinner before the panic sets in. Along with dinner, I’d like to propose what I like to call…The Vegetable of the Day. Vegetables feel more special when they know they’re being featured.
So here we go…
